A digger for Luke
A gift for my cousin's new born. I'm still experimenting with my new ipad so this is a combination of hand collage and ipad pen details. I forgot to take a picture of it in its frame before I wrapped it!

This week!
I'm getting lost in my days...my parents were here for the weekend, then gone and coming back tomorrow. My head feels like it is all over the place but amidst the busyness we continue to create :)
We had a wet and cool Saturday morning so we stayed indoors and played with our Hama Beads. As June is a busy birthday month, we came up with some new card designs using our Hama creations.
It is Lj's birthday next week. Each morning she runs downstairs to look at the calendar and counts the days until her birthday...'6 days to go til my birthday' she shouted as she raced back upstairs. I asked her why she was so excited about her birthday and she told me it was because she couldn't wait to see and eat her cake...I was quite surprised with her response. Yesterday morning she designed her own cake and made some me step by step instructions. I just love her little diagram! (start at the bottom left!).
The architectural sketch commissions keep coming in and this week I got a lovely text message saying how special the sketch of the church was to the whole family.

Architectural sketching #2
More gift comissions this week.
I felt completely out of my comfort zone while sketching the New York skyline!

Wedding pictures
The past couple of days have brought in some wedding presents for Lilyjean, Quirky & Handmade to create. I really enjoy sketching so these have been alot of fun.
This tree has all the names of the wedding guests on the leaves...I'm tempted to make one for myself!

Monday in London
Today I met my old school friend and her new born Baby Boy in London. We had fun viewing the current exhibitions in the Tate Modern, Sigmar Polke and Conflict Time Photography and then lunch in Leon. What a treat day!
I made little George a name picture using my new Sissix alphabet template.
While eating lunch I remarked to my friend that the packaging would be perfect for this weeks Wednesday club craft...so she asked the lady at the counter for some boxes and I went away with 10...there are only 9 in the picture above which was taken on the train on my way home...1 box is currently blowing its way round St Pauls Cathedral as I couldn't catch it when it blew away!
And I even got a couple of rows of my stripy blanket completed.
We had so much fun we plan to do it all over again next month...woowho!

Personalised bags
This week I seem to be making alot of personalised bags. I even had a mini man bag to make for Callum so he can carry his little cars and trucks around town with his mum and sister.

House sketches
I'm really enjoying having a few house sketches to do. The latest one took the kids and I on a short walk after school to get a good photo of a house before the sun disappeared. It was bitterly cold but thankfully they were kept intrigued by what I was doing enough to not notice their cold hands and toes!
Thankfully I had a happy customer who has promised another photo is on the way!

Don't forget us!
A gift for our Canadian friend, Jessica. Hopefully when she sees this bunting she will remember all the fun times and friends she made when living here in England!
I used a mix of fabrics and especially like the 'London Calling' fabric with its little double decker buses.

Another hot and sunny day :)
It seems unbelievable that these hot and sunny days would continue for so long...but I love it and hope we at least get a few more weeks of cloudless skies.
Today we are...
having a picnic in the shade.
posting some finished 'England inspired' bunting off to Canada
and having a try at making a dress from my Mum's 1980's dress pattern.

Decorated Jute Bags
It is so lovely to receive a commission for something I have never tried before. 'Decorate Jute Bags for a Hen Party'. I really enjoyed the challenge of learning what paints, pens and glitter glues would work on these and what would not wash away in a shower of rain...they are destined for N.Ireland after all! Knowing a little about the Bride and Matron of Honour helped with what designs I should be put on.
Have a great Hen Party Cathy and I'm so pleased you like your bags!

Zippy bags
My Mother in law has been making beautiful zippy bags for her friends and as I have 5 friends and a sister who have birthdays in the space of two weeks I thought I could steal her idea and copy her pattern! As with all patterns, it seemed a bit daunting to begin with. But once one is complete it gets much easier.
Of course, rather than get on with the presents I need to give in a couple of weeks I got side tracked on an idea of designing my own fabric with permanent Sharpie pens. So here is a pencil case for MJ's teacher!
I can see a lot of variations on the 'Zippy bag' happening!

Cupcake printed noticeboard
And finally...
Our cupcake printed fabric became a noticeboard for Nana (on the motorway). Now she can display all the beautiful pieces of artwork her Grankids produce for her :)
